Petitioner for probation in Marikina found unsuitable for community-based correctional treatment
Through a skillful courtesy investigation conducted by the Northern Samar Parole and Probation Office No. 2, a petitioner for probation in Marikina City was found to be unsuitable for a community-based correctional treatment. As correctly established, petitioner James Socorro y Regulacion was already granted 5 years probation under Criminal Case No. C-3392 for Qualified Theft at the Regional Trial Court, Branch 20 in Catarman, Northern Samar in an Order dated 2004 issued by the Honorable ERNESTO G. COROCOTO, Presiding Judge of the aforementioned RTC Branch.
While undergoing probation, the said petitioner was again charged for Murder under Criminal Case No. 4068 of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 22, in Laoang, Northern Samar. After being heard thrice in the Murder Case, the said petitioner escaped from the Sub-Provincial Jail of Laoang. The presiding Judge, RTC, Branch 22 in Laoang was constrained to issue an Alias Warrant of Arrest on November 12, 2007.
Likewise, it was established that the subject had been using different names. This, in CC. No. C-3392 his records name was Jimmy de la Cruz y Regulacion. In CC No. 4068, his recorded name was Jimmy Juan y Regulacion. In CC No. 2008-10726-HK in Marikina City his recorded name is James Socorro y Regulacion. Sad to say, his birth records are not registered with the Office of the Local Civil Registrar of Pambujan but he was positively identified by the mother of his victim in the Murder Case, by the Brgy. Captain of Brgy. Siete of Pambujan and the Officer-in-Charge of the Subpoena and Warrant Section of the PNP Station in Pambujan through a picture furnished by the Marikina City PPO. (PR)
