New mobile clinic for Biliran
Congressman Glenn C. Chong, of the lone Congressional District of Biliran responds to the crying need of Biliranons for health care services that is available to the different towns and barangays right at the doorsteps of its people.
A mobile clinic was provided by the Congressman to his district in mid November this year as realization of one of his programs dubbed as “Strategic Health Initiatives of Congressman Glenn C. Chong”. This was revealed by Philippine Information Agency Manager of Biliran province, Flordeliz Erro Jackson.
The mobile clinic will be conducting clinic services by schedule to the towns, so that people need not go to Naval, capital town of Biliran for their medical and dental examinations.
The mobile clinic has the following features. It has a developing room for X-ray films so that medical examination findings will immediately be known to the patient by an attending radiologist. It has a laboratory area; medical examination area with a bed to include audio-visual equipment and an LCD monitor. This P8million-worth mobile clinic will be stationed at Caibiran to serve nearby towns.
A second unit which will have more features/equipment will also be coming to Biliran within the first quarter of 2010. Congressman Chong enthused that the additional mobile clinic will have added features like an ultrasound unit, ECG and blood chemical analysis equipment. (Alvin Gz. Arpon)
