EIATP Media Awards 2009 deadline for submittal of entries is on Nov. 30
TACLOBAN CITY – As the deadline of submission nears for the 2nd Express It At The Park Media Awards, the awards secretariat are looking forward to more entries submitted with more categories opened in this year’s awards season.
From only four categories last year, this year’s 2nd EIATP Media Awards 2009 would be giving recognition for ten categories namely: for radio, Best Radio News Reporter, Best Radio Newscaster, Best Radio Commentator; for TV, Best TV New Reporter, Best TV Newscaster, Best Cameraman; and, for print, Best News Writer, Best Feature Writer, Best Opinion Writer and Best Press Photographer.
According to EIATP Founding Chairman Dalmacio Grafil, the local media deserves to be acknowledged for the work they have done all these years and all the efforts and dangers they have been to just to give the public the information they need, adding that “it is just fitting that their works may be recognized by the organization.”
Grafil urged EIATP members to submit their entries this week. Deadline of submission is set on November 30, 2009.
As has been contained in the awards mechanics, all entries to be submitted for the awards would cover reports, stories and opinions aired, broadcasted or printed from January to November 2009. All media outlets were provided with the complete mechanics and guidelines for the submission of entries.
Announcement of winners and awarding of trophies and prizes would be held in December during EIATP’s annual Christmas Party.
The awards seek to honor the achievements of the many media professionals who continue to highlight through print, radio and television community while challenging their efforts to raise the bar of journalistic practice.
Another category to look up for in this year’s media awards is the recognition for Newsmakers of the Year and Darling of the Press.
The nine-year-old Express It At The Park came up with this idea of giving awards to media personalities and public officials who have been supportive to this media organization in terms of public information dissemination for public consumption and the programs beneficial to the people.
Male and Female Stars of the Night would also be chosen and given incentives during the awards night and EIATP Christmas Party to be held on December 19, 2009 at the Leyte Park Resort Hotel. (AHLETTE C. REYES)
