City Hall officials, employees to get additional bonus
TACLOBAN CITY — Employees and elected officials of the City Hall are expected to be richer by a few thousands of pesos this Christmas.
The City Hall workers, to include Mayor Alfred Romualdez and other elected officials, are to receive additional bonus which is expected to be released in two week’s time, City Budget Officer Vicente Dy III said yesterday.
“But we are still awaiting guidelines from the Department of Budget and Management for our legal basis before we release the bonus,” Dy said.
The city budget officer said that all the workers and elected officials of the city government are assured to receive the additional bonus.
For this purpose, the city government will be allocating P24 million, the city budget officer added.
The fund for this purpose will be sourced from the savings of the city government.
He said that all permanent employees, to include all the elected officials and department heads, will receive P20,000 each while casual workers will receive P10,000 each.
Job order workers will also be entitled to receive P5,000 each, the city budget officer said.
Dy said that while the city government has the necessary budget for this additional bonus, they will still wait for official word from the DBM setting the guidelines for this purpose.
But still, a supplemental budget for this purpose will be submitted by the Office of the Mayor before the members of the city council this Wednesday.
